I caught the film bug early. I’m one of those filmmakers that started out making short films with my friends in the backyard when I was in my early teens. In 2009 one of these films, a throwback to 80s action flicks called ‘The Assassin’, won my high school’s yearly talent competition in my hometown of Tilburg, The Netherlands. This is when I first saw a large audience responding to something that I had created. I knew in that moment that I would let nothing stand in my way of pursuing a career as a filmmaker.

After graduating high school, I studied International Media and Entertainment Management at NHTV Breda, and continued to make short films. In 2017 I decided I wanted to get formal film education in a country with a larger film industry. I moved to the United Kingdom to study Film and Moving Image Production at Norwich University of the Arts, from which I graduated in July 2020.

Through years of experimenting with film, working on my own projects and those of others as well as taking on commercial projects, I have built a strong sense of storytelling both in structure and visual style. I feel story and themes are key, whether in a short film, advert or music video. Finding and defining those elements is the most important task of a filmmaker, who can then take those elements and infuse it into every part of the project from the writing to the cinematography and the production design.

I am currently looking for projects to work on mostly as a writer/director and editor, but I also have experience as a sound designer, producer, assistant director, location marshal and actor.
